About Scott Butner Photography
Scott Butner first picked up a camera more than 50 years ago, as a 9-year old child growing up in the Puget Sound area. After a brief career in photography that included stints working as the team photographer for the Seattle Seahawks and Seattle Sounders, Scott put the camera aside to pursue a career in science, where he worked on developing renewable energy technology and “green” manufacturing techniques in the US National Laboratory system.
Sometime around 2003, a light bulb went off! Digital photography had reached a point where professional-grade images were possible, and Scott returned to photography, first as a hobby, and finally in 2013, as a full-time professional. Scott Butner Photography, LLC was born, and has served clients in the Pacific NW and beyond ever since.
These days, Scott’s work focuses primarily on regional landscapes in and around the Mid-Columbia region of Washington State, but also includes select editorial and industrial/commercial photography assignments. Scott’s work harkens back to “old school” values of professionalism — being aware of trends but not bound by them, and shooting a wide variety of subjects, techniques and styles to produce the images that tell the client’s story.
About my images
The photographs you see on these pages are my own images, shot over a decade of photographing the Mid-Columbia and other regions of the world. I make them available as finished, ready-to-hang wall art, in sizes from 8x12” to 32x48” and beyond. Most of my images are also available for licensing for editorial or advertising use — contact me for pricing and availability.
If you are looking for an image of a specific location or subject, and don’t find it here — don’t despair! My catalog is much larger than what I’ve posted online, and I may just have something that will work. Drop me a line and I’ll do what I can to find an image for you.
